![]() In real life, the NCC/VAMP is based on the Japanese Self-Defense Force Komatsu LAV. Apparently someone at the Club had the same thought as the paint apps include some patches of “blue splatter” that could only come from the afflicted! ![]() In other words, this is the vehicle that could hit a few abandoned cars on the way to rescue civilians and not even have to slow down for a group of Compound Z infected walkers. It’s a large, solid, four wheel drive vehicle that looks like it can traverse most types of terrain and still take a fair amount of punishment. The winch was actually more encumbering than useful, at least in my experience. It retains the NCC’s armored doors, roll cage, and roof assembly and lacks the working winch of the PoC model. I guess that incident of shoddy construction slightly tainted the VAMP for me.įor all intent and purpose, this is the Ninja Combat Cruiser with the primary turret of the PoC VAMP Mk II in place of the missile rack. So much for “sturdy construction for rugged play”. But that could be because when I got my first one for Christmas back in 1982, the left rear wheel broke off later that afternoon and my folk’s didn’t allow me to exchange it for a new one. ![]() I also like the VAMP, but not as much as you. (See, told ya I was a fan!) Mmm.yes, how droll. Therefore my glee was near unadulterated when I saw the Zombie Hunter VAMP which merged the best parts of the most recent versions into a vehicle truly worthy of the legacy of the VAMP. ![]() I was especially thrilled by the Pursuit of Cobra VAMP Mk II and by the Retaliation Ninja Combat Cruiser which served as a modern day “Mark 2” to the “Mk II”. Not only did I love the original, but every subsequent four wheeled engine of justice that has shared the moniker all the way up to the present day. The original VAMP and all of its subsequent version and upgrades is one of those items. There’s just too much childhood nostalgia and too many backyard adventures firmly imprinted upon them. You are to stay away from it at all times. Yes, and that reminds me, the Whirlwind won its injunction and the restraining order is active. Joe mythos about which I cannot be objective with. There are certain characters and vehicles in the G.I. It’s time to load up the Zombie Hunter VAMP and get to work. Their location is across town on the other side of the most heavily infected area and time is of the essence. Civilians, few in number and desperate for help, are looking for anyone to help them escape the shambling nightmare. (Well, we are a country in decline…) Suddenly, a call comes in on a radio channel thought long-dead. (That’s what happens when we try to “fundamentally transform America…) Pockets of survivors are becoming smaller and smaller as the hordes increase in number. The public services infrastructure has all but collapsed rendering civil service assistance all but useless. Also, this game is simply begging for some sort of accelerometer usage, and more then one map would be nice. The city is overrun with hordes of the walking dead. The guns are an important aspect of the gameplay but can extremely hard to aim (especially when you’re facing zombies from both sides of the house). There are times where the player is put in helpless situations in which a weapon is needed, but cannot be found. The gameplay, though great, is not perfect. Though the game features no multiplayer, there is an extensive online community offering leader boards, news, and a message board. Finally there is a “Sandbox” option, where the player has the ability to test out weapons and practice skills without worrying about dying. The second mode is “Endless Siege,” a survivor mode in which you defend against wave after wave of zombies until you are overrun. There are three modes of play: first, the campaign mode, which includes 31 stages, two difficulty levels, and the ability to unlock and upgrade weapons. The weapons are well varied and fantastically fun to use, the sound effects are realistic and believable, and the physics engine creates a level of variety unseen in defense games. Gamedoctors spent a great deal of time on this app, and it shows.
